#Medicine is a profession that transcends the barriers of science to encounter ethics, morality, and matters of life and death. As a doctor, I find myself in a privileged position to ob
serve, understand, and respect life at all stages. Today, I wish to share with you 12 reasons why, from my experience and scientific knowledge, I do not support abortion after 8 weeks of gestation.
1️⃣ ❤️ **Heart Formed and Functional**: By 8 weeks, the embryo's heart is not only formed, but it's beating, pumping blood, and actively participating in the development of life.
2️⃣ 🧠 **Brain Development**: The brain, though still in its early stages of development, already exhibits basic functions. This essential organ continues to form at a rapid pace, laying the groundwork for all future skills and experiences.
3️⃣ 🧬 **Genetic Uniqueness**: Each embryo is a genetically unique individual, with an irreplaceable life potential and the capacity to grow and contribute to the world in unimaginable ways.
4️⃣ 😊 **Facial Features Defined**: In the eighth week of gestation, the embryo's facial features begin to take shape, reflecting their individuality and humanity.
5️⃣ 👣 **Formation of Limbs**: Around this time, the tiny fingers of the hands and feet are emerging, marking the beginning of their ability to interact with the world in meaningful ways.
6️⃣ 🤱 **Future Health**: Prenatal development is a crucial stage that sets the foundation for the individual's long-term health. Events that occur at this stage can have lasting effects on a person's life.
7️⃣ 🚼 **Major Organs**: By 8 weeks, the embryo's major organs are in the process of forming and preparing to function independently, further defining their biological individuality.
8️⃣ 💕 **Alternatives to Abortion**: Although we recognize that pregnancy can present difficulties, there are alternatives to abortion, such as adoption, which can be considered.
9️⃣ 🔬 **Mission of Medicine**: Medicine seeks to preserve and enhance the life and health of all individuals, including the unborn.
🔟 👩👧👦 **Support for Vulnerable Mothers and Families**: Instead of focusing on abortion as a solution, we should direct more resources towards supporting vulnerable mothers and families to prevent the need for abortions.
1️⃣1️⃣ ⚖️ **Right to Life**: I strongly believe that every life, no matter how small or young, deserves protection and respect.
1️⃣2️⃣ ✨ **Inestimable Potential**: Every life has an incalculable potential, and each pregnancy can bring something wonderful to the world.
These are my reasons and they represent my stance. However, I value and respect all opinions and am happy to promote an open and constructive dialogue on this issue. Diversity of thought helps us grow as a society.
